Old School Hammers Committee Nominations

Annual General Meeting

Nominations for our committee were opened July 11th via our website, email and Facebook page.

All Old School Hammers members were eligible to stand for the committee and any current committee member wishing to stand again had to be nominated and subject to re-election.

The following individuals have accepted their nomination to stand for the Old School Hammers Committee for the coming year – you can read their election addresses below.

Our constitution allows for up to six committee members and as we have only 4 nominees there will be no need to hold an election. Those proposed will have to be formally ratified at our AGM on August 28th.

Once the committee for the coming year is formally ratified, the Chair, Secretary and FAB representative will then be elected from that committee.

Proposed Committee

Mike Field (moved by L Rogers, seconded by R Blane,)
Steve Law (moved by P Stringfellow, seconded by P Colborne)
Phil Stringfellow (Moved by M Field, seconded by R Blane)

Tim Conlon

I found in the recent past that there was no proper supporter representation for those aged 60 and above, so I got together with a few West Ham football mates and from there Old School Hammers was formed.

Next year will mark my 60th anniversary watching my beloved West Ham. I’ve been there through thick and thin, home and away, glorious triumphs at Wembley and Prague, and too many relegations to mention.

I’m now in a very privileged position as I have time to support and look after my fellow fans. It’s always been the fans that have made this club what it is and as such I’d be very happy to be elected to this position.

Mike Field

I’ve been a Hammers supporter for 60 years, home and away, through thick and thin, with that experience providing insight into fans’ desires and belief in their beloved football club.

If elected I would be delighted and honoured to continue to serve on the Old School Hammers committee and work to ensure our loyal older supporters get the best possible matchday experience and enjoy a mutually beneficial relationship with the club.

Steve Law

In standing for election to the committee, I wish to outline why I think I should be elected.

I have held the post previously playing an active role in our campaigns for the over 60’s. I still go to most games and believe my experience in the law helps our members in various ways.

Phil Stringfellow

I’ve been a West Ham fan all my life, first attending in 1974. I saw us win the FA Cup in 1980 and then had to wait until 2023 to see us lift another trophy…many many years of highs and lows in between.

I have a home season ticket and travel to most away matches with my 22 year old son.

I’ve made many friends through West Ham and understand the feelings and frustrations of our older fans and I’d like to continue to represent them through Old School Hammers, given the opportunity, and help improve their match day experience.
